Kindred Children’s Television Alliance
Nurturing Kindness and Curiosity through Children’s Educational Television
Founded in 2025, KCTA is a U.S.–based nonprofit established to bring high-quality, research-based children’s television to communities with limited access to educational resources. We seek partnerships with public broadcasters, educational media producers, and philanthropy to localize quality entertainment-education content for children in crisis-affected and underserved regions.
Afghanistan is experiencing one of the world’s sharpest collapses in childhood well-being: Inadequate access to quality educational media for 20.7 million children and youth. A quarter of Afghan children experience clinical levels of anxiety—ten times the global average. 90% of 10-year-olds cannot read a simple sentence. Enrollment in early learning is virtually nonexistent. Widespread poverty, food insecurity, and the loss of international support since 2021 have led to a free-fall in education and child development outcomes.
We source, localize, and deliver proven educational media:
- Identify children’s content rooted in established educational frameworks (NAEYC, PBS Kids).
- Conduct local focus groups to ensure effective adaptation.
- Creators retain full IP ownership; KCTA
manages localization and distribution. - Distribute through online and satellite
channels, ensuring access where
censorship or infrastructure failures
limit reach. - Measure impact through rigorous
research, publishing findings in peer-reviewed
outlets.
